I can't help but feel, following what just took place at the Charlie Kirk event at Utah Valley University (my alma mater), that our state, country, and culture are in a dark place.
Last week, I got multiple death threats following a viral LinkedIn post explicitly accusing me, personally, of not recognizing more women at our annual awards gala.
I received death threats, had to increase security threefold, and arranged personal protection for myself and my family after announcing that Elder David Bednar of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints would be speaking at a past Silicon Slopes Summit.
For weeks, a man stalked me outside of my office, walking into multiple tech companies, shouting obscenities about me and Silicon Slopes, until the police were ultimately called.
I got death threats and had to boost security at a past event where we recognized Senator Mike Lee. You shrug off such things. Then things like today happen.
I probably shouldn't be posting this, but something is deeply wrong.
God help us.
